The new single from Picastro is a hypnotic one that teases the rest of their enigmatic covers EP, I’ve Never Met A Stranger, which is out now. The cover of Fire On Fire’s track ‘Hangman’ is an emotive and endearing recording which unravels from within its own lo-fi, raw sound. Whether it’s the audible sound of the plectrum hitting the guitar strings in that Syd Barrett-esque way or the gentle contrast of the fast melodica layer beneath the Neutral Milk Hotel style avant-garde folk, they’ve really achieved something with every minute textural decision here.
